About ROA |
History The Life Education Centers' programs were introduced to the United States by Jim and Lucy Webb of Kansas City, Missouri. They heard about the Centers while traveling in Sydney, Australia in 1985. The Rev. Ted Noffs had established the first Center in 1979 as a result of the ceaseless crisis counseling he was involved with in the drug abuse area. After returning to Kansas City, the Webbs began working with friends and business associates committed to establishing the first Life Education Center in the United States. The movile classroom arrived in Kansas City in September 1987 and Reach Out America, Inc. was established. In November 1987, the mobile classroom began visiting area schools in the greater Kansas City area. Reach Out America now operates three mobile classrooms that visit schools throughout Missouri and Kansas. Since 1987 this drug prevention program has grown to over one million
students annually in 5 countries and 4 continents. In the United States,
there are mobile units visiting schools in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma,
and Illinois. We are optimistic that the program will eventually operate
in all 50 states. |
